Snowed In

When I woke up this morning, my neighborhood looked like a snowglobe.  Before even tending to my bedhead, I stepped into my Hunters, grabbed my Blackberry, and snapped these pics of the untouched snow.  Reason #3,216 that my heart belongs to New England.

Happy Friday, all!

Rolling in the #1 Spot

Finally! Adele is getting the recognition she deserves... even if not in the US. It's refreshing to see a young female star emerging on the music scene who actually has raw talent. It pains me to categorize her music as pop because it is SO soulful. Her amazing track from the 21 album, Rolling in the Deep, is skyrocketing to the #1 spot on the BBC charts. Go, Adele, go!

State of a Dress

After months of deliberating, and at the advice of a few really wonderful friends, I have decided to start my very own blog. Sure, the idea of hurling my otherwise personal thoughts into the abyss is a frightening one. However, the idea of interacting with people from all over the country (or even world!) who share my affinity for style far outweighs any initial hesitation.

And so it begins...

I was away for the weekend and, although I was having a complete blast while skiing at Cannon, I was disappointed to miss live coverage of the Globes. I realize that editorials are currently saturated with red carpet reactions… Still, I just cannot help but add my two cents and hope for feedback from my newest readers.

You will soon learn that I tend to favor the risk-takers over the play-it-safers… even when the risk doesn’t always pan out exactly as planned. With that being said, I was thrilled with the presence of cut-outs on the carpet!

January Jones (as always) was completely stunning in red-hot Versace.

I loved Eva Longoria’s more demure, conservative version of the cut-out.

Emma Stone’s peach gown was almost a perfect match to her skin tone, which toned down the dramatic cut-out back. By the way, she looks amazing as a blonde.

Also…
Did you hear that Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks lost her insanely expensive (and even more insanely borrowed) 124 karat diamond bracelet on the red carpet?! YIKES. Girlfriend must have been breathing into a brown paper bag. I’m sure Chopard would not have let go of an $850,000 bracelet very easily. Luckily, it was found (phew!) by the end of the night. I guess being fabulous has a pricetag after all.

And finally… my top pick for best-dressed guy on the red carpet goes to…

True Blood’s Ryan Kwanten.

I just love that he rocked a velvet bow tie. Like I said, the risk-takers get me every time.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!
